OAKLAND, ME – Maine Technology Group, an award-winning provider of managed IT, cyber security and business solutions for small and mid-sized organizations, has relocated to a new, larger location in Oakland, ME. The technology firm’s expansion to Kennedy Memorial Drive, one of mid-Maine’s most heavily trafficked routes, affords convenient access to Interstate 95, high visibility, and proximity to both Oakland and Waterville, two growing municipalities in the mid-Maine region.
To accommodate Maine Technology Group (MTG)’s business growth, including the addition of business development, marketing, and technical roles, the firm chose to expand to 835 Kennedy Memorial Drive in Oakland, which provides approximately 6,000 sq. ft. of office space. In the last year alone, MTG has grown by almost $700,000 and employs 11 full-time technicians, sales and administrative staff.
In addition to the new Oakland office and a satellite office in Bangor, ME, MTG currently has operations out of its Winslow facility, which the tech firm recently renovated to provide ample opportunity for a diverse array of future business uses.
“Our new Oakland, Maine office allows us to more effectively extend MTG’s heritage of delivering cutting edge IT and Cyber Security solutions to small to mid-sized businesses throughout the state,” said Scott MacDonald, CEO/Founder of Maine Technology Group. “This move reflects the expansion of our organization and will allow for our continued projected growth. Oakland was a natural fit given the success we’ve already seen in the region’s blossoming tech scene and talent pool.”
Between job retention and new job creation, Maine Technology Group is a leader in greater Waterville’s emerging technology and knowledge-based hub. “We’re thrilled to celebrate Maine Technology Group’s growth in the mid-Maine region, and want to thank them for their dedication to generating new jobs, investment, and forthcoming opportunities that will occur as they provide business solutions to clients regionally and statewide,” said Garvan D. Donegan, director of planning and economic development of Central Maine Growth Council. “As the region continues to attract information- and technology-based firms, from biotech startups to digital service providers, high-quality managed IT services are a critical component for economic success.”
“We are also excited to welcome some outstanding new hires, including Sean Conerly as part of our leadership team. He is a terrific talent who will not only bring a tight focus on customer relationship and quality to our sales team, but will also be instrumental to our growth achievement goals within our security and managed services offerings. Sean’s energy, team approach, and perceptiveness have already been invaluable assets to MTG extending its footprint locally, regionally, and statewide,” says MacDonald.
