CMGC Launches “Rural Rise” Competition to Support Rural Entrepreneurs
Winners to Receive One-Year Membership at Brick’s Coworking & Innovation Space and Personalized Business Assistance from Dirigo Labs

Waterville, ME – January 8, 2025 – Central Maine Growth Council (CMGC), in collaboration with its flagship innovation program, Dirigo Labs, is proud to announce the launch of CMGC’s Rural Rise Competition. This new initiative is designed to support innovation and entrepreneurship in Maine’s rural communities by offering visionary entrepreneurs the chance at a free, year-long Flex Membership at Brick’s Coworking & Innovation Space, along with tailored technical assistance and mentorship through Dirigo Labs.

The goal of the competition is to provide rural entrepreneurs, early-stage business owners, and small businesses with both a physical workspace and access to critical business development resources, mentorship, partnership and visibility.

“Strong economies are built by people and know-how. This competition is about supporting those foundational entrepreneurs and surrounding them with the structure they need to thrive. Through the collaboration between Brick’s and Dirigo Labs, we’re providing the two things every founder needs: a place to focus and a pathway to scale,” said Garvan Donegan, President and CEO of the Central Maine Growth Council.
