Waterville, ME – GenoTyping Center of America (GTCA) is pleased to announce the opening of its new laboratory in the City of Waterville’s Hathaway Creative Center. GTCA is a maturing Maine-based biotechnology company focused on genetic testing and the design, development, and commercialization of next generation genotyping to address unmet needs for research facilities and institutions around the globe.

“We are excited to be opening our laboratory in Waterville, where we will have access to an emerging technology community within the city’s budding downtown, a highly skilled workforce, and innovation support systems that are essential for a startup biotech company like GTCA,” says Michael Greene, Marketing Director and Co-founder of GTCA.

Along with the laboratory in Waterville, GTCA has a business office in Ellsworth, Maine. “GTCA has seen rapid growth of about 90% over each of the past three years. We are excited about our expected growth over the next 12 to 24 months and we will be looking to increase our capacity and hire top talent, especially for technical laboratory work and process management to refine our operations as we continue to scale up.” said Todd Dehm, CEO and Co-founder of GTCA.

From the Hathaway Creative Center, GTCA provides accurate, flexible and fast genetic testing services, including confirming the genetic makeup and consistency of research models. GTCA will also be partnering with area institutions and technology companies to provide hands-on learning and internship opportunities for the future leaders of the biotechnology and life sciences industries.

“We are delighted to welcome such an innovative genetics company like GTCA to the downtown district,” said Garvan D. Donegan, Director of Planning & Economic Development at Central Maine Growth Council. “As the downtown’s first biotechnology enterprise, GTCA adds to our region’s diverse mix of people, facilities, and resources, and helps position Waterville and mid-Maine as a growing technology and knowledge-based hub.”
